Wigs on wheels
Thanks to another’s pointer, I read this cool article about wig-wear!!! This is exactly what is needed. Fewer articles scrutinizing celebrities for fake hair (which exists in abundance anyway) and more articles equating hairpieces to accessories, because that’s precisely what they are in my opinion. Shoes, jewelry, and wigs are accessories that can enhance natural beauty, and I think the right wig can go a long way further in doing that than shoes worth much more. Disclaimer: I never understood shoe craze and lust. Guess hair is my vice, huh?
Anyway this article coincides nicely with something I just saw out at an indoor mall downtown. It was a vendor’s cart loaded to the gills with hairpieces and extensions. Another sight I haven’t noticed before…and a woman was there having the lady vendor help her out in putting a few of them on to determine what worked best. She had on a pretty good match for her hair color and texture that was composed of a few add-on pieces. I was tempted to try on as well, but I was just a tad galled by the location of the cart which was smack-dab in front of the escalators. The location afforded plenty of views to gawkers on the steps and I happen to prefer privacy when mussing with hair. That doesn’t rule out going back there at a less busy hour, mind you. But really, a very good business idea though to sell as an independent mobile vendor. Makes alot of sense to bring this stuff out somewhere accessible and open, considering how compactly hairpieces can be carried when not displayed on heads and stands. And the cart looked more warm and inviting than some wig shops I have seen. I dont’ know about you, but the sight of an unkempt display with older-style wiggy wigs does not exactly beckon me inside to explore further.
